I am running for Orange County, NY legislator in district 6 because Newburgh is diverse and multicultural, and we deserve connected, visible, and strategic representation. I also recognize the critical need for more minority and women voices in a legislative body. We need more Democratic representation in a legislature in which we are outnumbered. The more individuals who understand the lived experiences and identify with our community that are in lawmaking spaces, the better outcomes we will see. My mother worked in warehouses, and my father in auto detailing to provide for my brother and I. They would also work cleaning jobs to make ends meet, and through them I learned to fight and rise above.
My mission is to be a connector, someone who can leverage for better outcomes for the community I am seeking to represent. My approach will bring our needs to the forefront to create better economic development, healthcare, and environmental outcomes. My core values lie in integrity, action and purpose. I will continue to be the reliable, authentic, and connected leader I have been. As an elected official I will speak out when necessary and take a stand for those who are not in the room. I am running a community driven for the people by the people campaign. The city and town of Newburgh can be unified and sustainable together. It is time to challenge the status quo.
